Panel 1
The scene opens with Patrick waking up buried inside a coffin. He’s a newly created vampire who doesn’t know he’s died and been transformed into the undead, nor does he know where he is. It is extremely dark inside the wooden box and there is little room to move. Some tiny bugs are crawling around inside with him. (Technically there should be no light in the coffin but who wants to look at a series of black panels. I’m taking a bit of a liberty here with the story, artistically it can be drawn to try and simulate the situation. Also, his vision has been enhanced now that he is a vampire.)
Caption: Whaa…where am I?
Caption 2: Why is it so dark?
Caption 3: And why do I smell dirt?
Panel 2
Patrick tries to sit up but his head bangs of the coffin lid catching him by surprise.
Patrick: Agh! Damn it!
Caption: What the hell is going on?
Panel 3
Patrick is banging the underside of his fist against the coffin lid. Bits of dirt are falling between the planks of wood.
Caption: Am I buried alive?!
Panel 4
Patrick is starting to freak out and is banging even harder against the sides of the coffin. The wood is cracking from the force of the blows.
Caption: How could they think I’m dead? It was just a fever!
Patrick: HELP! I’M NOT DEAD! GET ME OUT OF HERE!
