Ooh! Decapitated in my own story! Man, what did I do to Adam to deserve that kind of harsh treatment?

On the serious side I really loved how this page turned out. Henry’s colours over Adam’s art looked fabulous. Things are starting to pick up and the horror is in full swing.

Panel 1
Night time. The bonfire is roaring. Primitive’s dance around it in strange costumes. Three poles stand beside the fire holding a prisoner. The torches still burn in the cave entrance.

Caption: Their primitive festival began soon after nightfall. It continued for hours, varying in its frenzy.

Panel 2
Something is coming out of the cave. A cloaked, hunched figure catches the torch light. Primitives visible by the edge of the cave have stopped dancing and now lie prostrate with their faces touching the ground.

Caption: Then a figure emerged from the cave.

Panel 3
Close up of the cloaked figure as it has moved closer to the bonfire. The amulet on the Captain’s desk hangs around the humanoids neck. The thing has its hands in the air. They look completely inhuman, possessing three thick, squat reptilian fingers and thumb with long black claw-like nails. In one hand is an upraised stone staff. Adorning the top is a giant onyx stone, shaped to look like the Bloodstone statue. The things face is covered by the shadows of its clock cowl.

Caption: I believed it was the village witch doctor before I saw its hands and flesh, features possessed by no living man.

Panel 4
The cloaked figure is pointing at a pygmy warrior, a horribly scarred man, bearing numerous bone piercings. The pygmy is holding in his rough hands a primitively fashioned machete level with the neck of a prisoner.

Caption: All paid deference to it.

Panel 5
The primitive has a snarl on his face as he swings forward with brutal force. The target is off panel but the blood from the wound is spraying onto the pygmy’s face.

Caption: At its command my men were slaughtered like animals.
