So Zuda has closed it’s doors and is combining with DC’s digital presence. That’s too bad for many of the creators since their projects have now, abruptly, come to an end without being completed. It’s gotta be tough having the rug pulled out from under you but I guess that’s the business when you work for a large company that’s consolidating its digital presence. At least from the sounds of it they’ll be getting the rights to their work back.
I know some of the more popular titles will continue with the first issue being free, followed by a pay system afterward, but I won’t bother checking it out. If I want to buy comics I’m old school in that I’ll pay for print. I’m not yet down with buying digitally. So, I guess there goes around three or four webcomics I routinely read. I’m going to have find some replacements. Or maybe I could use my time better and start a couple of extra weekly posts? Something to think about.
Anyway, the Zuda experiment has come to an end. That’s too bad. Two weeks before they shut down submissions I did send off an entry which was rejected only a couple of weeks ago. Still, it was not a waste as something will be coming from it in the fall. So stay tuned. This project looks killer. Trust me.
